Phase I Update

Progress on Phase I continues. Occupancy for Tower A of Vision began in December 2017 and continues into fall 2018. Construction continues on Tower B and is expected to be completed spring 2019. Pat Bayly Square is expected to be completed later in 2018 with a grand opening scheduled for fall 2018.

“Tower A” Update

After a record cold winter and minor site condition setbacks, Medallion Developments anticipates that by the end of the summer “Tower A” will begin to rise out of the ground. Construction to date has included underground works, excavation and shoring, and underground parking infrastructure. “Tower A” is expected to be complete by spring 2016 and will consist of 25 storeys, 272 residential units, two floors of office space, and ground level commercial.

Work will immediately follow on “Tower B” and Pat Bayly Square.

Summer 2013 Construction Update

The excavation and shoring contract has been awarded by Medallion. Excavation and shoring work will take approximately 6 months to complete. The first building is scheduled to be at occupancy stage in approximately 24 months.

Medallion Groundbreaking - November 25, 2012On Sunday, November 25, 2012, Ajax Council and Medallion Corporation officially broke ground on Vision at Pat Bayly Square, a $300-million urban, mixed-use development at the south-west corner of Bayly Street and Harwood Avenue, the first of its kind in Durham Region.

Continuing with Council’s commitment to revitalize the downtown area, this landmark development is essential to creating a thriving, prosperous and livable downtown. The collective investment in this new development by the Town, Region and Medallion Corporation will create jobs, attract capital investment and improve the Town’s overall economic health. The total Town, Region and Community financial benefit combined is approximately $2.6 billion by 2053.

This long-term project will result in real, progressive change in the area, and will act as a gateway to Downtown Ajax, providing a meaningful urban centre for activity and community interaction in the heart of Ajax. The site will feature a prominent civic square, a mix of uses, including high quality residential, commercial and retail space, and public transit, cycling, and pedestrian amenities.
